+Some examples of where the **LVR** and **LVR Custom** devices may be useful.
 +
+The primary use and reason for the creation of the LVR circuit in the first place was to help prevent CMOS corruption on Williams 6809-based hardware that is using a switcher instead of the linear power supply.  Once the supply voltage drops during power-down, the LVR device will put the CPU into reset before the voltage hits the point where it would normally cause the CPU to start executing random write operations.  This should prevent that occasional corruption from taking place.
 +
+Another use is to augment or replace an existing Power-On Reset (POR) circuit.  The DS1233 also works during power-up to hold the CPU in reset until the power supply voltage goes past the minimum voltage (~4.625v) and will release the reset ~350ms after the tolerance has been exceeded.  More information on the behavior of the DS1233 can be found on its datasheet, which is available [[https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/DS1233.pdf|here]].
